Working as an independent insurance adjuster, I'm just finishing up with Hurricane Ike. The cost of Xactimate is way too much for me to keep it on all the time. If I let my "subscription" expire, will Xactimate still work on my computer so I can review claims and information when necessary? Or will it just stop working when my expiration date comes up? Like I said, it's just too darned expensive at $250/month to keep it on when I'm not using it every day for work. Anyone know the answer to this? I'm desperate as I only have a couple of days left.

Hi!
I don't think Xactimate will work at all after the subscription runs out.

I'm not quite sure what can be done about this, but that just doesn't work for me. Someone needs to come up with a solution to this problem. I know I'm not the only one who feels like I'm being taken advantage of, by Xactimate. They should provide some way for one to at least access the files at no cost or at very minimal cost. The way it is now, it certainly provides motivation to find a way to circumvent their non-concern for their customers. Guess it's time to find another program to use that has a little more concern for it users.

Xactimate has a great deal of concern for their customers......unfortunately, my opinion is that independent contractors are not in that group. I believe that, after the ISO purchase, Xactimate exists only for the purpose of providing a way for inexperienced claims handlers and contractors to write estimates for insurance companies, and as a way for the insurance industry to artificially keep repair costs down. When was the last time that you, as an experienced construction professional involved daily in the restoration industry, were asked by Xactimate for some pricing information? Has it been since ISO took over Xactimate?
