Like it or not, Xactimate has about 80% of the restoration software market. Those of us who are are part of that 80%, though, know how fickle & frustrating it can be. I found a glitch in my Xactimate 25.1 program. I like to create estimate .pdf files (to be viewed with Adobe Acrobat) straight out of Xactimate. I save them to an electronic job file, then attach them to emails & send them. It's really convenient. When I upgraded to Xactimate 25, however, I realized that if I create a .pdf file out of Xactimate, then revise the estimate & save it as a .pdf of the same name, it does not create the revised .pdf file, even though it asks the standard "do you want to replace the file" question. The only way to create the revised .pdf file is to delete the original .pdf file, then save the revised one. What a pain!
I emailed a tech on the eService Center, & he told me that this was a known issue, but said there were no plans to fix it. Way to go Xactimate!

Does anyone know how to print IN PROGRESS over an estimate in Xactimate 25?

whenever you print out an estimate paper or pdf etc. is there a way to print the status of the claim In progress complete waiting etc. over each page? i have received several that had this from other adjusters

I see.....that is usually a function of your printer. Go into your printer preferences and look for something like "finishing." Then you can print an overlay on anything you print.

I'm trying to figure out how to put the overhead and profit costs into the overall unit costs.

What do you mean? Do you want to up your unit costs by your O&P factor, and then not show O&P at the end?

I have a BIG problem. We have Xactimate 27 ML v. 27.0.77 it is running on:

Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard x64

x4 Xeon 2.31 GHz Processors

10GB DDR2 RAM

14.4GB of 40GB SATA HDD

When we try to sketch a roof with more than one pitch or a gabel (anything extra) our program throes up an error:

"An Unhandled exception has occurred in you application"
"arithmetic operation has resulted in an overflow"

We have been on the phone with Xactware 3rd tier tech support for about four hours, and have gone through the standard uninstall, re install, repair install. Any help would be most appreciated

Our Xact 27.1 is giving us this same error when we try to create another level in Sketch, starting on the "proposed" side. The work around is to default Xact to open in "Existing". create your levels there, then move to "Proposed" if necessary. If you are not making changes ie: remodeling, then there is no reason to use "proposed" anyway. Xact says they are fixing this in the next Xact 27 release.
