I am the owner of Heritage Restoration, a company in Washington State. Been doing restoration repairs about 5 years now and became a member of NIR this last year. I attended my first conference in San Antonio. Enjoyed it very much. Our company is growing at a steady rate. We did about 350 jobs last year, of course many were small though we did have our share of large losses as well. The majority of jobs are not a problem. The ones that are, the main issue resolves around the policy holder trying not to pay even though they were paid be the insurance company. Over the 5 years 5 jobs have or will be going to Court. I would say we have not lost any cases but I know we could have done better with better Contract and Authorizations. In court the opposing attorneys usually claim the customer was unaware of the cost or they try to hold us to a preliminary estimate. I am meeting with my attorney in a couple of weeks to work out the wrinkles and fine tune. He suggest I get some imput from others in the industry. I really wish this to be a main topic at next years conference. Anyone willing to add some imput on this? I will be glad to show the contracts and authorizations I am using presently.

Sincerely

I would like to see what documents you are currently using today, I have testified as an expert many times to this same topic and in most cases we were successful. The industry standards have been our best defense and that is how we aligned our cases and that goes for standards within the contracts and authorizations.

If you would like you can send copies to webmaster@timematerialsoftware.com

Thanks and good luck :)
